The Work

Artist Biography
LeeAnn Neumann is a Charleston, SC based artist, potter, and professional photographer. Originally from Indiana, LeeAnn left home after college and met her husband Marshall while doing an internship in Myrtle Beach, SC. They left the beach to be closer to his family in Minneapolis, got married and started a family. Minnesota winters are long and cold (IYKYK), the beach called them home, and Charleston has been their forever home since 2016. Since being in Charleston, LeeAnn and Marshall have doubled their family from two boys to four (baby boy #4 is due in July 2023)!
LeeAnn has a B.A. in advertising from Ball State University, and found herself accidentally with an insurance career after accepting a ‘marketing’ position with State Farm after college. LeeAnn spent 15 years climbing the corporate ladder until she found a niche specializing in personal insurance for high net worth clients, and eventually went on to become Director of Personal Lines for a successful insurance agency. Burnt out and missing her kids’ childhoods, she decided to exit insurance and pursue her natural born creative talents with art and photography. LeeAnn comes from a family of artists on her mom’s side and has been surrounded by art since she was a small girl.
Since living in Charleston, LeeAnn has showcased her work in several local farmer’s/ artisan markets, and most recently has participated in the 2022 North Charleston Arts festival as well as the 2022 Redux Art Auction.
LeeAnn primarily works with acrylic on canvas and paints a variety of subjects, such as local Charleston scenes and landmarks, intuitive color studies, and whimsy animals. She aims to bring people joy through her work, whether it’s preserving important life moments (photography), or bringing life to spaces through art.
